Taking payments and payment links

Charge cards by phone or in person, and send customers a link to pay.

Take payment

1. Open Take payment.
2. Enter the amount and what it is for.
3. Choose a saved customer, or New card and type the card into NMI’s secure form.
4. Add the customer’s name and email (needed to save the card or send a receipt).
5. Click Charge card and confirm.

Every charge is a WooCommerce order paid through your NMI checkout gateway, so it shows in WooCommerce, sends the usual emails and counts in reports. Declines show the bank’s reason.

Payment links

Open Payment links, enter the amount and the customer, and send by email or text. The customer pays on your store’s secure page. An optional automatic reminder can follow up if they have not paid after a few days (Settings → Store & payments).

Saving cards

Tick “Save this card” only with the customer’s permission. Saved cards are stored at NMI, never on your site, and appear on the customer’s WooCommerce account for faster checkout.
